THE JUNIOR AUXILIARY OF SLIDELL WINS NATIONAL

HONORS AT ANNUAL CONVENTION-2011

Members of the  Junior Auxiliary of Slidell recently attended the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries, Inc. 70th Annual Education Conference in Memphis, Tennessee  where they were honored with five national awards.

The Junior Auxiliary of Slidell first place awarded to the Slidell Chapter was the Public Relations Award given to the chapter for overall chapter promotion.  The award was presented to JAS for their essay and scrapbook showcasing the media support publicizing their many community service projects.

The Junior Auxiliary of Slidell is also honored to receive the Efficiency Award.

Participants at the conference in Memphis learned more about the National Association of Junior Auxiliary’s and it's slogan“Care Today ~ Character Tomorrow” and when teamed with the Junior Auxiliary Chapters all over the Mid South we are working more than ever before to increase awareness of child health and welfare and how it affects the future of the child.

Junior Auxiliary members also attended sessions to strengthen the functioning of their local Chapters and to help their service and finance projects be more effective.

Junior Auxiliary represents a serious endeavor on the part of women to be active and constructive community participants and to assume leadership roles in meeting community needs.  The mission of the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries is to provide support, resources, and educational, leadership, cultural, and healthcare training for NAJA members in order to optimize community service by NAJA Chapters.  These educational meetings for its members give them the resources to be better community volunteers.
