Last year, Junior Auxiliary of Slidell volunteers worked 1800 hours and spent more than $25,000 to serve over 11,000 people in the Slidell area, with a primary focus on serving children. JAS wants to be able to help our community more so please come out and help raise money so JAS can continue helping our community.
JAS is piloting a new project this year called Backpacks4Kids. A backpack with food for the weekend will be sent home weekly with a group of kindergarten students at one of our Slidell area schools. A big thanks to Floyd Baker, H/R Director at Associated Wholesale Grocers, for donating 6 cases of food items for the project. Please contact Donna Lusignan at JASlidell@gmail.com if you would like to support this project with food or monetary donations.
Junior Auxiliary of Slidell's newest project, "Backpacks4Kids", kicked off on Thursday afternoon (September 5, 2013) in Jennifer Anti's classroom. Project members Alison Atkinson, Barbara Gravois, Sharon Hewitt and Donna Lusignan, stuffed bags with food and books for students to bring home over the weekend. The project will continue every Thursday during the school year.
